The revival of Omonia square in Athens

There has been some speculation recently that the historical building that once used to house the famous Neon cafe bistro could be revived and restored.

Omonia Square - Athens GreeceWith impressive results against crime in the area, as well as the possibility of the entire square facing a complete revamp, the signs are positive that this important part of central Athens will see a brighter and positive future.

It’s central location means that Omonia square is one of the busiest parts of the city centre, but over the years it has become very run down, and is certainly a place that many tourists will not venture to. However, with the possible plans of a complete revival of the area, there is hope that some of the former glory of Omonia square can be restored.
