How do I travel to Rethymno ?
You can reach the county of Rethymno in Crete by either air or sea. There is no airport in Rethymno, but the airport of Chania is close by and caters for domestic and international flights from locations all over Greece and Europe. The airport of Heraklion is also available for arrivals to Crete, but it located further away from Rethymno than the airport of Chania.
You can also travel by ferry to Rethymno, with a limited number of direct ferry services from Piraeus in Athens. The majority of ferry services to Crete will arrive at either Chania or Heraklion. From either of these two ports, you can then continue your journey towards the county of Rethymno.
